I just read another wonderful post by twitter pal @ginidietrich
Can Technology Replace In-Person Meetings
To which I cannot help but respond that technology actually facilities more in person meetings than it replaces! Any time you "meet" in real time - in the same web conference room - even in a voice only conference call - being actively present and interacting with those you are meeting is a live meeting. Gone are the days where you had to leave your desk, office and even home to have and host effective meetings.
Here's 3 techs I found which can help put you in real time with those who are not physcially next to you (or who may be) - completely up to you:
-
goMeetnow - meet and share desktop, webcam, whiteboard, polling, chat and transfer files and documents.
-
Vyew allows you to meet and share content in real time. Upload images, files, videos into your room and users can access/contribute. Whiteboarding, video conferencing, screen sharing, VoIP.
-
VoxWire is a computer to computer web conferencing application - see, speak, text chat with others; share websites; files; screens.
